Wir sind sehr erfreut, dass das Bildungskollektiv Biko die Ausstellung „WE WILL RISE!“ für den Juni nach Erfurt eingeladen hat:

WE WILL RISE ist ein Archiv und eine Ausstellung, gewidmet den Kämpfen von Geflüchteten. Eine Ausstellung, die zeigt, wie sich Geflüchtete in Bewegung setzen und kämpfen — gegen die Bedingungen, unter denen sie in Deutschland leben müssen, gegen Abschiebungen, gegen die mörderischen Außengrenzen der Festung Europa und gegen die Weltordnung, die seit Jahrhunderten Reichtum und Macht im globalen Norden konzentriert. Die Ausstellung zeigt die Perspektive der Protagonist_innen dieser Kämpfe. Sie ist entstanden nach der Räumung des besetzten Oranienplatz in Berlin 2014. Sie schafft einen Reflexionsraum für die Menschen der Bewegung und bietet gleichzeitig Austausch mit Menschen, die (noch) nicht Teil der Bewegung sind.

Eine solche Ausstellung wird nicht leise und vornehm mit einer Vernissage eröffnet. Statt dessen wollen wir mit den Ausstellungsmacher_innen, mit Thüringer Geflüchteten und vielen weiteren Gegner_innen des unmenschlichen Grenzregimes auf die Straße gehen und zeigen, dass die Kämpfe weitergehen. „We will rise!“ ist in diesem Sinne ein Versprechen und die Verpflichtung, nicht locker zu lassen und weiter gegen die unwürdigen Verhältnisse und für globale Bewegungsfreiheit einzutreten.

WE WILL RISE! Exhibition and Demonstration

We’re very pleased that the Educational Collective Biko has invited the exhibition „WE WILL RISE!“ to Erfurt. It will be shown in June in the church „Michaeliskirche“.

WE WILL RISE is both an archive and an exhibition, dedicated to the refugees‘ struggle. An exhibition that shows refugees‘ movement and their struggle against living conditions in Germany, against Deportations, against the deadly borders of Fortress Europe, against a world order that has accumulated wealth and power in the global north for hundreds of years. The exhibition shows the protagonists of these struggles. It was created after the eviction of the squatted Oranienplatz in Berlin in 2014. It creates a room for reflection for people on the move and for those who are not (yet) part of the movement.

An exhibition of that kind will not be opened with a nice and distinguished vernissage. Instead we’d like to demonstrate on the streets — together with the creators of the exhibition, with thuringian refugees, with many other opponents of the inhumane border regime. We’d like to express that the struggle will continue. With that in mind „We will rise“ shows the commitment to keep on fighting against unworthily living conditions and for global freedom of movement.
